Łzy Efalit (tak, powrót Sumeru)

Hej, hej, hej!

Teraz będzie mniej platońsko, mniej umiarkowanie, mniej racjonalistycznie, mniej ascetycznie, a także mniej whigowsko i “progresywnie”, a bardziej dionizyjsko, romantycznie, nietzscheańsko, dekadencko i surrealistycznie.

In the age when Time was young, when the wounds of the World spilt abundant blood, Man for the first time walked upright among the beasts. He was given the power of names and he was given the name of the Terrible One among them. Man lived in crowds, roamed in the fields, without Law and with a dim Love. He ate raw meat and he watched the stars, and he grew in wisdom. He learned the names of the gods in the Heavens and in the Earth. He made fire and he tamed wild beasts, as he brought Earth in his thrall. But Man feared the Black Sun, which brought madness upon the land, and no flame and no god could protect him against it.

And among men the great and the mighty was the tribe of Ze, which was born in the furnace of EL-EPHAÏS, where they learned the art of casting bronze and iron. And descended the tribe of Ze into the hills of Ashirku, which they made their home. And the queen of the Men of Ze was Ephalit, who was wise and beautiful among them, and who called the spirits with her flute, and knew the whip of the gods, and who was feared by other nations for she was a clever sorceress. She had four sons with the king of the Men of Lamu, who were all strong and tall and who were made the ruling council of Lamu, and their names were Zabishel, Ea-Manu, Hathezu, and Ma-Aphal. And she had her fifth son, with the prophet who walked the way of Shay in the holy caverns of Shemal, and his name was Inu, whom Ephalit saw in the stars as the king of the future, who will build a land of golden gates and who shall raise the blue tower, in which she may give birth to the secret city of New Ze. And Inu grew in power and in wisdom, and his body was sculpted by the Sun to be supple and fruitful, of radiant face and a lion’s mane. He was made to be a great hunter and he was loved by many of the women of Ze. And he was the beloved of Ephalit, who kissed his head and anointed his feet. And people whispered among themselves: “He shall be a great king in Ashirku”.

So have heard the brothers who ruled Lamu and they were taken by envy. They spoke among themselves: “Shall Inu be the king of all? Are we not deserving of our mother’s love?”, and to them spoke Ma-Aphal, who was known to be wise among them: “Inu hath the body most abundant among men, shall we sacrifice him and eat his flesh, we will become like him, and ours will be the kingship of Ashirku and the love of Ephalit”. To which the brothers responded: “Great is thine wisdom and thine cleverness, for we will become like him, and ours will be the kingship of Ashirku, and the love of Ephalit.”

In the lands of Lamu there was a place of holy vapors, where the Earth was wounded, which was of the star of Asha, that is the soul, which was called Shul. The men of Lamu made a temple in this place, where they made sacrifices in exchange for power and wisdom. And so the brothers spoke to Inu: “Come with us to Shul of the vapors, where we shall slay a sacred bull and feast on it, so that there may be friendship among our tribe.” And Inu came with them to Shul of the vapors, for he was generous of heart. In the Shul of the vapors they killed him, in the stead of the bull, for Ea-Manu ran the spear of the kings of Lamu through his back. Then all the brothers stood in terror of what they have done, as they saw the blood of the graft of Ephalit spilt on the altar of Shul. And so spoke Ma-Aphal: “Let us now cook his flesh in the sacred pot and eat it, so that we may be purified of our terror and given back the love of our mother.” Upon hearing these words, they put the flesh of Inu in the sacred pot and feasted on him in the stead of the anointed bull.

And when the news of her sons’ crime reached Ephalit, she was taken with rage and grief and so she spoke to her servants: “Bring me not the black robe of mourning, but the red robe of Shay, who makes war. Let me drench this robe in the blood of EL-EPHAÏS, and step into the abode of holiness. Where I shall utter the curse most terrible and lead the men of Ze to war against the devourers of flesh.”

And she walked into the abode of holiness that was in Ze, robed in the crimson light of Shay, armed with the magical sword, and girded with cloth soaked in bitter poison. And before the altar she spoke curses upon men of Lamu, in the wisdom of Aphal and in the rage of Shay she spoke them. And so she spoke in the name of EL-EPHAÏS, the mightiest of names: “May the branch of Lamu wither and may the Earth be watered with the blood of the wretched tribe, and may thistle and poisonous vine grow in the lands of Lamu, may it be home for the scorpion, the wolf and the tiger, may the fruits of its trees rot and may the anger of the Stars fall upon them. But I ordain so in the name of EL-EPHAÏS, who is great, may there be deliverance from my sorrow found in this land, for naught revenge can mend my heart.”, and she turned to the people of Ze and she told them “Let Law be established in the land, for the fruit of lawlessness is sorrow, and may War be made against the transgressors of the Law. O, men of Ze, ready your sword and your spear, and your bow and your arrow. Prepare your chariot and light your torches. For the tribe of Lamu must be slaughtered to the last of their children, so spaketh the Law.”

And pestilence descended upon the men and the cattle of Lamu. All of them burned with a holy fire and wasted with a thirst no water could quench. And lightning and earthquake destroyed their homes and crushed their shelters. And they all wept and pointed at the ruling council: “What hath thou done?”

And so spoke Hathezu to the other brothers: “We feasted on Inu, yet no love and no power was born from our sacrifice. Shall we become cursed among men? Shall the branch of Lamu wither and bear no fruit? Shall the abyss forever remain in our heart? Naught but love of fair Ephalit can undo the curse. So I speak to thee, let us take Ephalit as a wife and lay with her by force, so that Love can be made and the tribe of Lamu be glorified hundredfold.” But he blasphemed in vain, for the army of Ze walked through Lamu and slew men whenever it went. And the warband of Ephalit met the force of Lamu in Shul of the vapors, where many men of Lamu were slain, and where the four brothers were taken in capture.

And so spoke Ephalit to the four brothers: “Flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood, why hath thou betrayed me? By the love of my fruit, I have brought on myself thine hatred. And Law hardened my heart, so that I cannot see flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood, but only wretched criminals awaiting the pyre. Thou shall burn in the fire of the Law, so that Justice may be done on Earth.”

And so the men of Ze made pyres of cedar wood in Shul of the vapors, upon which the brothers were bound, and on which they were returned into ashes.

And Ephalit stood before the burning flesh of their sons and heard their wailing as they shouted: “Why has thine heart hardened, o loveless mother?”

And so spoke Ephalit in her heart: “The Law has hardened my heart, for the Love of fair Inu was betrayed. Not in Law lays the dwelling of EL-EPHAÏS, who is Love, yet Law is my Power as the queen, and the halo of my Love for fair Inu. So let it be ordained that Love shall use Law as its instrument!” And she called the name of EL-EPHAÏS, and all the names that are in the Heavens, and the name of Asha, who was the star of Shul of the vapors. She called “In the name of EL-EPHAÏS, may there be a balm for my heart in the soulless world!” and she wept, her tears fell upon the rock of Shul of the vapors.

And as she called the holy names, the star of Asha, that is the soul, descended into her tears, as it is not in the Heavens anymore. And from the tears of Ephalit, sprung the source of a grand river, which descended upon the plain which is below the hills of Ashirku. And this plain was since then called Ashaam.

Możesz przenieść ten wątek do galerii, btw?

PS: Och, mogę to sama zrobić…

Uuuu, ciekawe ciekawe

Coś więcej? O.O

W sumie ciekawi mnie co motywowało zmianę imienia/postaci królowej. I wybór angielskiego jako języka

Wyjaśniłam oba we wprowadzeniu…
